Far from crowded locations, if you search for a “different” rest time…come to Lastres.The most kept secret of the Asturian coast, a friendly fishing village with a captivating evening over the sea and sunset between mountains.

The beach known as “l’Estilleru” is famous, whalers ships were built in this place during past centuries, and swimming conditions are excellent.

The best of this historical village is to enjoy it in detail, get lost around the stone pavement streets, find the small squares, fountains, chapels and popular architecture…mix up with the people.

If you wish a “complete” day, you can visit the Jurasic Museum and have a sun bath at beach Playa de la Griega, walk around following the dinosaur footprints and Lastres village to end up observing the sunset from the lighthouse.

Lastres Beach

Also known as l’Estilleru beach (being the place of diverse shipbuilding tonnage for centuries), it enjoys the advantages of being near Lastres, one of the most typical and beautiful villages of the Asturian coast. The Island Beach (The Island)

Named islet located in the left margin, with which one at low tide via a tombolo. Length 650 meters. Residential environment. Vehicular access. Amenities: parking, restrooms, showers, lifeguard service.

Barrigon Beach

Small beach located on the eastern beach of the island; at low tide is attached to the La EspasaBeach. Their services are shared with the beach of the island.

Espasa Beach

The river flows into Espasa beach and divides the towns of Caravia and Colunga. Length 1500 meters. Vehicular access. Residential environment. Amenities: parking, restrooms, showers, lifeguard service.

Sierra del Sueve

Very close to the Cantabrian Sea the Sueve stands in the town of Colunga. Its orography has served as a stronghold to the Asturian asturcon race horse, but perhaps its most striking feature is its dense and persistent fog around here called "borrina". The beautiful Sueve routes mostly run through forests and meadows. The richness of plant species, the abundance of sources and the attractiveness of its splendid panoramic mountains make this one of the most desirable and beautiful for the practice of hiking areas in Asturias.

The Fitu Viewpoint

Halfway between the road Colunga and Arriondas the pass in which the greatest balcony of Asturias, The Fitu Viewpoint. The panoramic view from there is observed at 579 m altitude, on a green countryside and 3 km in a straight line to the sea, reaches much of the Asturian coast, the valley of the River Sella and bottom Picos de Europa.

The Jurassic Museum of Asturias ( MUJA)

In the nearby Greek beach on the road from Colunga to Lastres, a road leads us to the San Telmo where is located the Jurassic Museum of Asturias (MUJA). The unique museum building, shaped footprint, and its spectacular location is a tourist attraction by itself.

Dinosaur Tracks

Itinerary from the panel on the Greek beach is about 500 m, in the cliffs is a spectacular site of dinosaur footprints. Beside the bridge found a display panel and a path of a few hundred meters excavated in the hillside, which take us to the footprints that appear on a gently sloping limestone layer in the direction of the sea.
